All four clubs in Flack Advisory Services Group-backed Bendigo Region will be determined to strengthen their position in League standings.
The Hawks will use their PowerPlay at the Flora Hill athletics complex in Retreat Road as they fight to earn promotion to premier class for next season.
In Shield League, the top two of each division earn promotion for next season as the bottom two are relegated.
Premiership points are awarded each round on a scale of 10-1 from highest to lowest.
Using a PowerPlay, a club will double its premiership points for that round.
The Hawks will be aiming for maximum points - 10.
Athletes can enter as many events as they choose, but it's only the highest score from three events which will be added to the club's tally.
Athletics Chilwell and Eaglehawk lead division two on 66 and 52 points.
The third-placed Keilor-St Bernards is also on 52 points, but trails the Hawks by more than 18,000.
In-form athletes for Eaglehawk include Angus McKindlay, Olivia Graham, Kathryn Heagney, Kye Mason, Terry Hicks, Jorja Morrison, Scarlett Southern, Hunter Staples, James Bentley and Laura Kadri.
South Bendigo is 10th in premier division and in danger of losing its place in the top flight.
The 10th-placed South Bendigo is 10 points adrift of eighth-placed Western Athletics.
Bendigo Harriers have improved dramatically on last season and a chance to climb from division three.
It's an intense duel in division three as Wyndham, 49; Wendouree, 48; and Casey Cardinia, 48; lead the way.
Bendigo Harriers is fourth on 47 points, and Frankston is next on 46.
It's been a tough season for Bendigo University which will stay in division four.
First of the track events will sprint hurdles from 1.30pm.
Also on an action-packed schedule are 1500 or 3000m walk, 100m, 1500m, 2000m or 3000m steeplechase, and 400m.
Clubs can also compete in a non-scoring 4 x 400m relay.
Field events are shot put, javelin, discus, pole vault, and high jump.
