Police allege they tried to intercept a motorcycle on Upper California Gully Road about 12.10am on Sunday, when it sped away.
Officers did not pursue the bike.

About five minutes later police were called to a crash in Weatherall Street where the same motorcycle had allegedly crashed into a parked car.
The 39-year-old rider was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.
He is expected to be interviewed in relation to evading police.
