Detective Senior Constable Troy Wickham said police went to the Ogilvie Avenue address about 2pm on Monday to arrest the man who was wanted on outstanding warrants.
But the man allegedly fled from police, climbing from a balcony onto the roof of two-storey unit block.
Senior Detective Wickham said the man ran across the roof but slipped through the tiles, seriously injuring his leg.

The man was stuck there for about two hours because he could not climb down a ladder with his injuries.
Fire crews from Bendigo were called to help with the rescue.
The man was eventually arrested. He appeared before the Bendigo Magistrates' Court earlier this week but did not apply for bail.
The man was remanded in custody and is due to return to court next month. He has been charged with burglary offences.
