THE Bendigo District Cricket Association's two standout teams of the women's competition - Kangaroo Flat and Sandhurst - will battle it out for the premiership on Sunday.
The Roos and Dragons have both been dominant throughout the third season of the Lisa Chesters Shield competition.
Kangaroo Flat - which won the inaugural premiership - hasn't lost a game, while the only defeat Sandhurst has suffered was by 11 runs to the Roos in round six.
Should the Dragons upset the favourites on Sunday, it would be a premiership in what is the club's first season in the competition.
"The girls have improved each week and it's great we have the chance to play on the final day," Sandhurst co-captain Kate Shallard said on Friday.
"It has been a real club effort. Sandhurst has been very supportive of our women's team and the girls have all put in a big effort getting to training over the season.
"We know Kangaroo Flat has been the benchmark all season, so it's going to be a matter of making sure we put it all together on Sunday."
The Dragons head into Sunday's grand final off the back of a comprehensive 10-wicket win over Emu Creek in their semi-final last weekend.
The grand final stage is a familiar one for Kangaroo Flat, with the Roos having played in the first two deciders for a win and a loss.
"It's going to be a great experience for the girls to come up against a quality team in Sandhurst on Sunday," Kangaroo Flat's Rindy Sawyer said.
"I think it's going to be a really tough battle and the girls are all really excited to be part of it.
"It has been great for the competition to have Sandhurst in it this year and they've certainly got plenty of talent, so, hopefully, on Sunday we can put together an all-round performance."
The Roos - captained by Sarah Mannes - are coming off the competition's highest score of the season after blasting 4-195 from their 20 overs in their semi-final win over Strathdale-Maristians Suns last week.
Sunday's grand final will be played at Strathfieldsaye Primary School from 10.30am.
