The club will be offering the 2021 Active Girls and Kayaking 4 Kids programs as a way to attract young paddlers to the water.
The programs are for juniors aged 10-16 and will be conducted over six sessions at the BCC's base at Lake Weeroona.
"At the end of the program the girls will have a great introduction and skills to be able to paddle touring kayaks, try out a racing boat and hopefully participate in our Saturday and club events," BCC coach Tony Misson said.
No experience is required as participants will be given guidance from the BCC's team of coaches and instructors.
"We will start off in our very stable sea kayaks working on the skills to make it fun and enjoyable," Misson said.
"Then we will progress to touring kayaks. As all equipment is provided all you need to bring is a change of clothes and a positive attitude."
Misson said the club was thrilled with the success of the program last season and looked forward to seeing more paddlers advance their skills on the water.
"We welcome everybody to the club. You don't have to be a member to participate and we look forward to having family, friends and other clubs involved in our Saturday Club paddles," he said.
"We have a proud history of offering junior programs with many club juniors starting in the Kayaking 4 Kids and Active Girls program."
The program was scheduled to begin on Wednesday February 17 but due to the five-day lockdown the plan is to start next week if restrictions allow.
The program has been subsidised by the club and the total cost is $60 per participant.
