A MAN has been released on bail after allegedly punching his partner in the head on two separate occasions.

The man appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Monday. He has been charged with 14 offences, including recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault, and contravening a family violence intervention order.
The court heard on March 22, 2018, the man was allegedly with his partner on a train in central Victoria.

The woman had a family violence intervention order against the man.
Police alleged the man became verbally aggressive with the woman while on the train. He then allegedly grabbed her and punched her to the head.
The court heard the woman was able to get off at a train stop and leave the man.
Police alleged the man and his partner were in a motel room on the morning of June 8.
While she was in the shower, he took her towel and refused to give it back to her.
The court heard there was an argument between the pair and the man allegedly punched the woman to the head with a closed fist.
The woman reported the alleged incident to police on June 12 and the man was arrested.
The court heard between August and November, 2018, the man allegedly breached the intervention order by calling and texting the victim more than 300 times.

Police also alleged the man was with the woman during those months, which was in breach of the order.
The man was arrested on outstanding warrants on January 21 this year after police attended a property for a welfare check.
Defence lawyer Ahmet Yucel said the man was contesting the charges.
Mr Yucel said his client had moved on from the relationship with the victim, and had no incentive to contact or see the woman.
The defence lawyer said the man was vulnerable in prison due to a bipolar disorder diagnosis.
He said the man would have stable accommodation if released on bail, and the man's family could post a $2000 surety.
Magistrate Russell Kelly granted the man bail, on the conditions he resides at a fixed address, follows a curfew, and doesn't use drugs.
The man is due to return to the Bendigo Magistrates' Court next week.
