A BENDIGO driver who was caught speeding five times in a six-month period has lost his licence for three months.

Yiannakis Ioannou, 57, appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Wednesday where he pleaded guilty to charges including speeding and driving while suspended.
The court heard about 12.08pm on December 24, 2019, Ioannou was driving northbound on the Calder Freeway near Faraday.

Police caught him travelling at 131km/h in a 110km/h zone. When stopped, Ioannou told police he did not have his driver's licence with him.
The court heard when asked for his details, Ioannou provided a woman's name to police. After further questions, Ioannou eventually told officers his correct name and date of birth.
Checks confirmed Ioannou's licence had been suspended a month earlier.
He told police he provided a woman's name when questioned because he was worried about the demerit points on his licence.
The court heard then four days later, Ioannou was stopped while driving on High Street in Kangaroo Flat.
When the officers asked if he knew his licence was suspended, Ioannou said he was not aware.
The court heard about 4.20pm on March 6 last year, Ioannou was intercepted travelling at 124km/h on the Calder Freeway in a 110km/h zone. He was issued a penalty notice of $300.

About 12.50pm on April 10, Ioannou was driving on the Calder Freeway near Calder Park. Police caught him travelling at 98km/h in an 80km/h zone.
He told officers he accidentally went over the speed limit and apologised to the police.
The court heard about 9.26pm on April 16 last year, Ioannou was driving on Calder Freeway near Black Forest Drive in Macedon.
Police caught him travelling at 126km/h in a 110km/h zone. He was issued another penalty notice of $300.
About 2.50pm on May 12, Ioannou was driving on the Calder Freeway near Faraday. Officers found him travelling at 126km/h in a 110km/h zone.
Ioannou on Wednesday told the court he was new to Bendigo and was still getting used to the speed limits on the freeway.
Magistrate Patrick Southey said the 57-year-old's excuses for speeding were "atrocious".
Mr Southey said Ioannou needed to be more vigilant on the road and warned he would go to jail if he continued to speed.
Ioannou was convicted and fined $2000. His driver's licence was suspended for three months.
