Water Police issued 28 boat and personal watercraft fines after checking 80 vessels and finding offending on local inland waterways.
Operations JetLock and Reinforcement saw police attend Lake Eppalock, Waranga Basin, Greens Lake and Lake Nagambie between January 23 and 26.

Local members of Victoria Police joined the Water Police for the operations, which targeted dangerous behaviour and aimed to prevent serious marine incidents on inland waterways.
Most infringments were for dangerous operation of a vessel including speeding. One person was fined for exceeding the alcohol limit.
Anyone who witnesses dangerous behaviour on the water can report non-urgent incidents via the Police Assistance Line 131 444.
