BENDIGO BMX Club posted some great results at the National BMX Championships in Shepparton, with four riders boasting top 10 results.BMX champion mum Jaclyn Wilson-Thompson missed out on the National BMX Championship elite class title by a matter of seconds in her event, as Queensland teenager Cherie Simpson pipped her at the line.Wilson-Thompson posted another top-three finish at the meet, coming in third place at in the elite women cruiser event.Bendigo teenager Kyle Horton also earned himself a podium finish, finishing in third place in the junior men’s division.Young rider Matthew White also impressed for Bendigo, earning himself a fourth place in the under-12 boys event as well as a seventh-place finish in the 12-and-under boys cruiser event.Elite men rider Brock Tuckerman kept with the pack, finishing in 16th place overall, and Mark Bucknall finished in 11th place in both the 45-49 men’s race and the 45-plus men’s place.Five-year-old Belinda Bailey also posted impressive results in the sprockets division, coming in second place in the six-and-under class.Bendigo BMX Club had 19 riders finish at the National BMX Championships from under-8s to 45-plus age groups.The club will hold a meeting tonight at its Eaglehawk track from 7pm.
