HOLY Rosary Primary School principal Justin Lloyd is thrilled with the latest development at its White Hills site. Mr Lloyd said the $2 million multi-purpose learning facility was nearing completion thanks to the Rudd Government’s Building the Education Revolution program. Mr Lloyd said the school applied for a grant in April last year and work started in late July. The facility includes a library, multimedia space, design studio and performance studio for dance, drama and music lessons. It also includes music rooms, a kitchen, canteen, and other learning spaces. Mr Lloyd said it would also provide a meeting place for parents and sporting clubs. He said the school had outlined the design with the help of Planwise Design, with the intention of placing the library around the other learning areas. Although the project will benefit students, Mr Lloyd said it also meant a lot to parents. He said in his 10 years as principal, parents had worked to fund three other projects.“In my 30 years in education we have never seen anything like this, where schools have been able to design and build something specifically to meet the needs of their kids,” he said. “Every parent who walks past has a grin a mile wide on their face, because they haven’t had to sell a billion lamingtons to fund it.”
