NEW Campbells Creek coach Brent Bogaski has set about trying to ensure his playing group gets a taste of that winning feeling as early as possible in the Maryborough-Castlemaine District league this year.
Having been an assistant to Phil Hawkes for last year's season that was cancelled because of coronavirus, Bogaski is stepping up to take on the Creekers' senior role.
Bogaski is taking over a Campbells Creek side that endured a winless 2019 in the last season it played, and before that celebrated just one win in 2018.
"Brent is a very positive person... he has already set his first goal and that's to win in round one and build from there," Campbells Creek president Scott Jones said on Friday.
"His positive attitude is really fresh and is going to be really good for the club."
The Creekers' round one opponent will be another of the MCDFNL's teams that have found the going tough for an extended period in Dunolly on Saturday, April 17.
The last game the Creekers won was against Dunolly by 54 points in round 13 of 2018.
"Not being from Campbells Creek other than the month of pre-season we did last year before it was shut down, Brent brings a new approach and fresh ideas," Jones said.
"He's positive with the players, the committee and he wants to do his bit to help the club succeed. We had our first training session on Wednesday night... I didn't get to it, but by all reports there was a decent turn-out, which is a positive start."
As well as Bogaski appointed senior coach, the Creekers also have a new reserves coach in Kel Stevens. Darren Baker has been reappointed senior netball coach.
* MCDFNL round 1 - April 2: Maldon v Newstead. April 16: Maryborough Rovers v Royal Park. April 17: Avoca v Trentham, Dunolly v Campbells Creek, Harcourt v Navarre, Lexton v Talbot, Natte Bealiba v Carisbrook.
