A CFA member was taken to Echuca hospital this afternoon after being hit by a fire truck while responding to a fire in Tongala.

The incident happened at about 3.45pm. Injuries to the CFA member are not believed to be serious
The CFA had responded to a grass fire near the intersection of McBain and Curr roads at Tongala.
A spokesperson for the CFA said crews were called to the scene at 2pm with three trucks from Tongala responding along with support from Kyabram, Girgarre and Echuca Village. The fire was controlled by 2.20pm.

"A CFA member was involved in a minor incident while responding to a grassfire in Tongala," the spokesperson said. "It is believed the member was struck by a fire truck while it was reversing at low speed.
"The member has been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure."
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson confirmed someone was taken to Echuca hospital with suspected injuries to their upper and lower body.
