Authorities believe a fire near Moliagul on Monday was accidental.
Police at Maryborough said a person sustained minor injuries as a result of the blaze, which burnt about 150 hectares of land near Mason Drive.
Constable Brad Warren said police were investigating whether a generator backfired and sparked the fire.
The exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
Firefighters worked through the night to black out the scene.
CFA district 20 commander Dale Stemmer said crews would continue blacking out on Tuesday.
He expected there might be a bit of smoke in the area.
Mr Stemmer was confident the scene would pose no further concern by Wednesday, when the fire danger in the region is expected to rise again.

The fire was brought under control on Monday afternoon, after spreading across an area of about 150 hectares.
CFA district 20 commander Dale Stemmer said they were aware of the potential for a "spike day" on Wednesday, with more hot weather coming through.
He said crews were working to strengthen the containment line around the fire.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but investigators are on site.

Windy conditions have kept firefighters on their toes as they battle a blaze at Moliagul.
District 20 commander Dale Stemmer said it was believed the fire resulted from an explosion on a rubbish heap at a private property.
Investigations are ongoing, and police are at the scene.
There are at least 20 CFA truck and one Fire Rescue Victoria truck are at the site, with two helicopters to attend due to the inaccessibility of some parts of the scene.
Forest Fire Management Victoria is also assisting.
It is believed at least 60 to 70 hectares has been burnt.
Earlier a house and shed were under threat from the flames, but they are being protected by firefighters.
The wind has led to spot fires breaking out.
Firefighters are expected to work through the night.

An advice message has been issued for a grass and scrub fire at Moliagul.
The fire is travelling in a southerly direction and is not yet under control.
There is no threat to the general community, but those in the area are advised to monitor the situation and conditions.
Motorists should keep roads clear.
Smoke might be visible in the area.

CFA crews are fighting a grass and scrub fire that has broken out at Moliagul on Monday morning.
The call came in shortly before 11.30am.
The fire is burning on Carless Road, off the Moliagul-Rheola Road.
Eleven crews from Dunolly, Inglewood, Newbridge, Rheola, Tarnagulla and Murphys Creek are at the scene or on the way.
A total fire ban applies across the Northern Country, Mallee and Wimmera forecast districts on Monday, with each district's fire danger rated as severe.
