The MCG and Chadstone Shopping Centre have been listed as potential COVID-19 acquisition sites after a man in his 30s tested positive after attending the locations.
At a press conference on Wednesday morning, acting premier Jacinta Allan said authorities did not believe the man was infectious while at the MCG or Chadstone, but he might have contracted the virus from one of those locations.

The man attended day two of the Boxing Day Test on December 27 between 12.30pm and 3.30pm. He was seated in zone five on the fourth tier of the Great Southern Standard.
On December 26, the man attended the Boxing Day sales at Chadstone Shopping Centre between 6am and 2.30pm.
"His symptoms began on December 30 and the Department of Health and Human Services was notified of a positive result January 5," Ms Allan said.
"Tracing shows he has stayed at home since December 31."

Deputy health officer Allen Cheng said the case was regarded as a mystery case.
"We do have ticket details of all the people in that zone (at the MCG) and will be sending SMS texts to them asking for them to be tested," he said.
"The man was not infectious at the Boxing Day sales or the MCG. We are more worried about who might have given (the virus) to him at those sites."
Victorian COVID-19 commander Jeroen Weimar said a list of the stores visited by the man will be made available online.
The stores include Culture Kings, Huffer, JD Sports, Jay Jays, H&M, Uniqlo, Myer, Superdry, Footlocker and Dumplings Plus.
"If you were in these stores (at Chadstone on Boxing Day) we need you to get tested today," Mr Weimar said. "We are trying to identify who might be positive and are interested in people who didn't feel well that day or have been in NSW."
At this morning's press conference, Ms Allen also announced the planned return to offices for Melbourne workers would be delayed by one week.
"Yesterday we asked the public health team to review the return to work schedule for the Melbourne CBD given the current outbreak," she said.
Offices were set to be able to increase in-house staff to 50 per cent from January 11.
"The advice has been to pause the back to work change for one week," Ms Allan said.
"We will provide further advice next week so we can continue to monitor cases in NSW and the Black Rock cluster. We are keen to see no further cases emerge."
