Who was paid and how much to provide private contractors?
Now that the pandemic is under control we need to call for a vote of 'no confidence'.
If the Premier doesn't know who is ordering money to be paid then he should put his own head on the chopping block.

Valuation query
I read with some concern the caution with which our local council have responded to a rates cap put forward by government.
This year, our rates bill increased by 25 per cent on last year.
I see no reason for the huge increase and if it hadn't been for the COVID related shutdown and generally awful time during our two month window to officially object, we would have queried such a huge increase.
I have no idea how this increase can be justified - we do not have any related improvement in our services - indeed we don't even have a footpath out the front of our home.
I think perhaps, council has used Google to gee up the value - if you go to either of the two major real estate platforms, one gives a value estimate $100,000 more (at the higher end of the valuation) for our home than the other - perhaps this saves council a few dollars in their dodgy valuations?

Road safety concerns
Released under cover of a COVID Christmas, the Victorian ten-year road safety plan was not developed with road user groups.
The forums held across the state in 2018 were information sessions not consultation.
User groups were mostly ignored. In 2020 four police died in a Melbourne freeway emergency lane smash. In two weeks at the end of November a woman and two children died in wire rope barrier crashes near Perth and Brisbane. Road authorities were warned.

A way to do that is to open run-off areas by removing barriers where they are not needed ensuring emergency stop lanes are wide enough to be relatively safe.
Where ever you are in this wide brown land, stay safe this summer.
