Wednesday
FIREFIGHTERS have been left shaking their heads after a burnt-out vehicle was found in part of the forest at Mandurang South.
The Ford sedan was fully alight when crews arrived around 2.30pm.
Mandurang Fire Brigade captain Ken Butler said it was unusual for a burnt-out vehicle to be on the side of the forest closest to Pearces and Bailiff roads.
Firefighters suspected the car, which had no number plates, might have been stolen.
Police were called to investigate.
Firefighters had the blaze out within a couple of minutes.
Crews from Bendigo, Mandurang, Sedgwick, and Kangaroo Flat fire brigades responded.
Mr Butler said his brigade attended a car fire every couple of months.
