The organisation has been announced as the winner of the 2020 Premiers Sustainability Award for Health, for a program that recycles replacement bed curtains.
It's sent more than a tonne of waste to recycling that would have otherwise gone to landfill.
Other news:
It's believed to be the only hospital in the state with such a program.
The polypropylene bed screens and curtains require replacement each year to maintain hospital standards.
A Ballarat facility was willing to take them, baled to meet sanitation requirements.
Bendigo Health was nominated as a finalist for the award alongside the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.
