An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said a woman in her twenties was being treated at Bendigo Hospital, in a stable condition, following an incident at Greens Lake, Corop on Thursday afternoon.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said that police were called to Greens Lake, Corop after reports a woman had entered the water at about 3.40pm on Thursday and had not been seen since.
The spokesperson said investigators believe she was swimming towards two children who were on kayaks on the lake and having trouble in the conditions.

The children were brought to shore by another rescuer in a boat.
The Air Wing attended and located the woman, who was brought to shore and taken to Bendigo Hospital.

Emergency service crews are attending Greens Lake, Corop following calls of a kayaking incident.
CFA search and rescue, Victoria Police and Echuca SES members are on scene, following an initial call, made at 4pm on Thursday.
It is understood a mother and her children were kayaking on Greens Lake and required assistance.
