New manager for Advertiser

MARGOT Falconer has been appointed general manager of The Advertiser and The Bendigo Miner following the resignation of Peter Dehnert.Ms Falconer was born and educated in Bendigo and spent 12 years working with the then Channel 8 in Bendigo before moving to Melbourne.She has also worked in the advertising industry in the United Kingdom.Ms Falconer is the newspaper’s first female general manager in its 156-year history.Her appointment was announced to staff yesterday by Fairfax Media Victorian regional manager Bruce Morgan.Ms Falconer said she was thrilled to be taking on her new role.“It’s an honour and a privilege to be the new custodian of The Advertiser,” she said.Mr Dehnert has accepted the position of regional manager for the Hunter Valley, which includes overall management of Fairfax Media business units in the upper and lower Hunter region.
