Bendigo Heritage Attractions chief executive James Reade said there was a buzz around the Central Deborah Gold Mine with the return of the trams.
"They stop running on March 15 (due to the pandemic) but it is great to hear them running again," he said. "It was the longest time without them on the roads since 1972 when they switched from the SEC to the Bendigo Trust.
"Having them return today was also special because December 9 was 48 years since the first ever Talking Tram began."

The Central Deborah Gold Mine reopened in November and have had a number of visitors since.
"People were out there everywhere today and we're expecting a busy summer coming up," Mr Reade said. "We are encouraging people to book online, as the numbers are limited for the tram.
"We know people right across Victoria have had a challenging year and have reduced ticket prices by 45 per cent."
Tickets for the Bendigo Tram is $10 for adult and $5 for children.
