A BATTLE of the big guns will highlight this Saturday's round seven of the Bendigo District Cricket Association season.
Strathdale-Maristians and Kangaroo Flat were touted pre-season as two of the likely top contenders and will clash for the first time at Bell Oval in one of the most keenly-anticipated matches of the season.
The Suns are the only undefeated team still standing and have the trio of Grant Waldron, James Vlaeminck and Jack Neylon who have all made tons already this season.
The second-placed Roos will be coming off their first loss of the season after being upset at home by Strathfieldsaye last Saturday.
Saturday's games:
Strathdale-Maristians v Kangaroo Flat
Strathfieldsaye v Bendigo United
Eaglehawk v Bendigo
Golden Square v White Hills
Sandhurst v Huntly-North Epsom
Meanwhile, the BDCA has signed a new stump sponsor for the next three seasons.
ACS Bendigo is partnering with the BDCA, sponsoring the stumps for all senior games.
"We see this as a great opportunity to be able to give something back to local sport through these tough COVID times," ACS Bendigo managing director Ben Pengelly said.
"We're really proud to be associated with the BDCA."
