The closures will begin on Thursday, December 3, with different sections to be affected between 9am and 4pm.
Speed limits will also be reduced and motorists can expect an extra 15 minutes on they planned journey time.

One lane will be close on the northbound part of the highway (towards Bendigo) at Couangalt Road from Thursday to Saturday. This will also close the northbound exit and entry ramps.
Motorists relying on the ramps should detour down Melbourne Road, Gisborne-Melton Road and Station Road.
Southbound lane works (towards Melbourne) will take place on Sunday and Monday (December 6 and 7), leaving the left lane and the Station Road exit closed.
Affected motorists should use the Melbourne Road exit and drive through Gisborne to reach Station Road.
