ROUND 6

UNITED v CALIFORNIA GULLY
The Tigers make a welcome return to their upgraded lair at Ewing Park for this clash against California Gully.
Who will be the first player to send the ball flying straight down the ground over the new picket fence for six?
The Tigers - who last played at Ewing Park in February of 2019 - are now 24 points clear on top of the ladder after surviving a scare from Sedgwick last week.
California Gully is coming off its first win last week against Axe Creek and has skipper Marcus McKern in good touch with the bat with back-to-back scores of 103 n.o. and 59.
Last time - United 3-144 def California Gully 133.
Since 2008 - United 11; California Gully 3.
Tip - United.
............................................
MARONG v SPRING GULLY
Can the Panthers get the wicket of Crows' star Rhys Webb cheaply and heap the pressure on the Spring Gully top-order?
Webb has 316 runs from just three hits so far - he's made scores of 140 n.o., 62 and 114 n.o. - while the next best batsman for the Crows has been Alex Sutton (78).
Contrasting formlines between the two sides - Spring Gully has won three in a row, while Marong has lost its past three.
Last time - Spring Gully 185 def Marong 128.
Since 2008 - Spring Gully 9; Marong 5.
Tip - Spring Gully.

WEST BENDIGO v AXE CREEK
Should be a keenly-contested match between two sides that have just one win between them so far.
Been tough going with the ball the past fortnight for Axe Creek, which has conceded 263 runs from only 26 overs and taken just two wickets in beltings from California Gully and Mandurang.
Last time - Axe Creek 176 def West Bendigo 138.
Since 2008 - Axe Creek 7; West Bendigo 6.
Tip - West Bendigo.
............................................
MANDURANG v EMU CREEK
The match of the round between two sides that both have 3-1 records.
The Rangas have been the fastest scoring team in the competition with a run-rate of 6.86 from their first four games, while the Emus are ranked No.2 with the ball, setting up what should be an entertaining tussle between two contenders.
Last time - Emu Creek 179 & 149 def Mandurang 111.
Since 2008 - Emu Creek 7; Mandurang 6.
Tip - Emu Creek.
