Last Monday Basketball Victoria announced the return of indoor basketball for participants of all ages based on advice handed down by the premier.
The BBA domestic committee sprung into action immediately on Tuesday to prepare for the Monday November 30 start date.
"As soon as we received the news from Basketball Victoria we were immediately back into the swing of it," BBA president Martin Spottiswood said.
"It all came as a huge relief."
As of Monday the Paul Gray Builders Domestic Competition juniors will commence with three weeks of grading games leading up to Christmas before the players will return early in the New Year for a seven to eight week competition.
The competition will run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday nights.
It's anticipated the senior domestic competition will begin in 2021.
The season will be different to previous years as the competition will be conducted under the expected COVID-19 guidelines which have been outlined here by the BBA.
Above all, Spottiswood was thrilled the team at the BBA and Bendigo Stadium Limited were able to organise a season after several months of uncertainty.
"We're thankful we can offer the kids the opportunity to get back on the court to play basketball so they can stay active and socialise with their friends," he said.
Season structure
- Three weeks of grading before the Christmas break, and when teams return in 2021 they will have seven to eight weeks of competition games.
