As they have throughout the series, Norman and Belladonna Girl have been dealt another tough hand after drawing barrier 11 in the $200,000 final.
It's the third-consecutive poor draw for the daughter of Hes Watching and Mixed With A Twist, who entered the heats in terrific form following back-to-back wins at Shepparton and Stawell in October.
But Norman remains unfazed and is instead relishing another crack at a Group 1 feature with a filly capable of holding her own against the big guns.
"We're in it, so you are always a chance when you are in it," he said.
"She's going well, but she's just had no luck in the draw again. That makes it hard of course.
"The whole series we haven't had a good draw, but we got through the heats and the semi with it.
"But who knows, anything can happen. There might be a bit of pace on and that might make it for one back in the field.
"One thing I do know is you can't win it from back in the box at home."
Norman has experienced plenty of success before in feature races with horses at long odds.
Most notably, Tsonga caused an upset in the Breeders Crown four-year-old trotters final in 2011 by toppling the $1.70 favourite Mister Castleton, while in 2016, Adam Cartwright won the Group 3 Country Clubs Championship Final at odds of $44.
In 2010, the Norman-trained Did It Alone claimed the Sapling Stakes two-year-old feature at Melton as the rank outsider in a seven-horse field.
"It can be done - you just have to be in these races," he said."
"I can't fault the horse. Let's just hope the race is run to suit."
Kerryn Manning, who has driven Belladonna Girl at her past two starts, wil again take the steer.
Norman also has Cee Cee In America lining up in the Group 2 Breeders Crown Championship for four-year-old entires and geldings in the night's opening race.
