Every flight from Adelaide into Melbourne's Tullamarine airport would be met by Department of Health and Human Services officials, Victorian Deputy Chief Health Officer Allen Cheng on Monday announced.
"They will be taking names and contact details of people arriving from South Australia and asking them where they have been," Dr Cheng said.
They would also have their temperature and symptoms checked.

Passengers coming from areas the South Australian Government deemed a risk would be asked to isolate and get tested.
"If they refuse to get tested they will be treated as a close contact and be asked to self-isolate for 14 days," Dr Cheng said.
He advised anyone who had been in South Australia in the past 14 days to check the exposure sites listed on the SA Health website and take the appropriate actions.
"If they have any symptoms, no matter how mild, they should get tested and self-isolate until the result is available," Dr Cheng said.
The South Australian government has urged anyone who visited the Lyell McEwin Hospital emergency department between 5.30pm on Friday and 4am on Saturday to self-quarantine immediately, seek testing and call the SA COVID-19 information line on 1800 253 787.
SA Health is contacting people who might have been in close contact with a confirmed case.
