Be.Bendigo has encouraged eligible small businesses to apply for the City of Greater Bendigo's new grants program.
Dennis Bice, the head of the Bendigo region's business advocacy body, welcomed the initiative.
"Any support businesses can get along the way is valuable," he said.
He believed the City of Greater Bendigo was doing what it could to help businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Be.Bendigo has worked with the city in some of its business recovery initiatives.

SMALL businesses might be eligible to apply for up to $1000 under a new City of Greater Bendigo grants program.
The Business Revival Grants are intended to help businesses buy goods and get professional advice from other businesses in the local government area.
Funding can also be used to support shopfront or business improvements, but prospective applicants have been encouraged to seek advice from City of Greater Bendigo staff if their plans might require permits or approvals.
Businesses with up to 20 staff are eligible to apply. The funding is for new projects and would have to be spent by the end of March 2021.
The City of Greater Bendigo has set aside $40,000 for Business Revival Grants, in total.
"By ensuring they are targeted to be used on local services, these grants will have a dual benefit," City of Greater Bendigo growth and strategy director Bernie O'Sullivan said.
"If a business wants to complete works instead of using a service, we will be looking at projects that will enhance the vibrancy of our business and shopping precincts."
The grants form part of the city's suite of COVID-19 business support initiatives.
Applications for the first round of funding close on December 11.
