CALIVIL United has its first addition ahead of the 2021 Loddon Valley league season with the signing of Tim Lloyd from Rumbalara.
Demons' coach Glen Scholes describes Lloyd as an outside midfielder/flanker.
"He's a young player who has a couple of other mates that he will bring with him to add to our depth, which is good," Scholtes said on Thursday.
"We've lost a lot of players since the end of 2019, so at the moment we're just trying to get the list refreshed and topped back up again."
Had the 2020 LVFNL season gone ahead it was shaping as a year of rebuilding for the Demons under new coach Scholtes.
The Demons' most notable signing had been Brady Childs, who joined the Demons as a playing assistant coach - a role he will continue into 2021.
"We're confident that we'll retain most of our list that we would have had for this year," Scholtes said.
"At the moment we're having a casual kick-to-kick once-a-week that is nothing official, but perhaps starting late November or early December we'll look to get together within the restrictions we're allowed for a couple of sessions and then, hopefully, get into pre-season properly from mid to late January."
Clubs are permitted by AFL Victoria to begin pre-season training.
For senior teams (aged 19 and over) in regional Victoria, non-contact training (no tackling, bumping, marking contests) is permitted in groups of 10 at an outdoor facility.
Multiple groups of 10 are permitted, but a distance of 100m must be maintained.
Meanwhile, in the North Central league Charlton and Birchip-Watchem are still on the hunt for their 2021 senior coaches.
The Navies are seeking a replacement for Kain Robins, who had coached Charlton since 2018, but will play with Marong next season.
Birchip-Watchem - runner-up the past three years - had appointed Marcus Demaria as coach in August.
However, last month Demaria stood down as coach of the Bulls and has since returned to coach Woorinen, who he previously led to back-to-back Central Murray league flags in 2018-19.
