Parsons, who was playing for the Port Melbourne Mariners in division two, has been named as the MVP with a total of 28 votes.
"I was a bit surprised when I found out," Parsons said of his achievement.
"But I am very proud of myself and honoured as a lot of the other players who were in the top-five on the MVP list were all imports."
The Port Mariners missed out on a spot in the finals series by just one game, but Parsons was still thrilled as it was one of the best seasons with the club.
During his time with the Port Mariners he was able to grow both physically in his ability on the field in addition to gaining more mental strength as a player.
"Also training with some of the Victorian sides gave me plenty of insight and knowledge of the game," he said.
Parsons has just wrapped up several years at the club as he will now play with the Sunshine Eagles.
The star pitcher will also take his skills to the world stage next year after recently signing a contract to play overseas in Germany.
