The new Herriot Street park will get tails wagging for the first time on November 2.
It is connected to several popular dog walking paths including the O'Keefe Rail Trail and a track into the town centre, the City of Greater Bendigo's acting director of presentation and assets Paul Gangell said.
More news:
"There is also an existing car park that was constructed as part of the trail head for the O'Keefe Trail and plenty of off-road parking," he said.
"The new dog park is enclosed by a 1.8 metre fence with two air lock entry points and two separate areas for large and small dogs.
"The large dog area features a compacted gravel walking path and a large concrete trough to provide water and water play options."
Mr Gangell thanked people and their pets for their continued patience while the new grass establishes itself.
