Department of Health and Human Services data shows there have been 103 cases of the virus in the City of Greater Bendigo to date, one up from Monday.
However, the number of active cases has fallen from nine to eight.
This is half the number of cases that were still active just three days ago, on Saturday.
There have been no new cases elsewhere in central Victoria.
However, both Macedon Ranges and Campaspe shires have seen the number of active cases fall from eight to seven, and three to two, respectively.
There are currently 18 active cases in central Victoria.
Three weeks ago, on Monday, August 10, there were 91 active cases.
Premier Daniel Andrews said earlier on Tuesday that the success of COVID-19 containment strategies in regional Victoria meant regional areas could follow a different path out of lockdown to metropolitan Melbourne.
