Wright, who won the Demons best and fairest in 2017, had signed to play with Coburg Districts in division two of the Essendon District Football League for the 2020 season.
After COVID-19 forced the cancellation of metro and country footy across the state this year, Wright agreed to return to his home club.
The big bodied midfielder will provide some inside grunt to a Demons group that relied heavily on Kerridge's ball-winning ability in 2019.
The Demons finished fifth on the home and away ladder in 2019 with an 8-8 record and then lost the elimination final to Mt Pleasant.
After kicking 55 goals as a depp forward in 2019, Kerridge's former Carlton team-mate Jed Lamb has re-signed with White Hills.
The Demons are chasing a quality key forward to assist Lamb, Kris Beford and dangerous small forward Mitch Dole.
