It is the latest in a number of central Victorian events to cancel or postpone due to impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
Other cancelled events in the second half of this year include the Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival, Maryborough's Energy Breakthrough and the Elmore Field Days.
The Heathcote Winegrowers Association made announced the decision this morning.
"Due to the continuing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and uncertainty surrounding the lifting of restrictions across Victoria, HWA has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 (event)," the association said in a statement.
"HWA would like to thank everyone involved in the Festival - attendees, partners, suppliers, performers, staff and volunteers, producers and of course, our winemakers, who all contribute to making the Festival a much-anticipated event each year."

Organisers are planning to see the festival returning in 2021.
In the meantime, they will ensure local wineries are supported and wait to welcome visitors back to Heathcote when restrictions ease.
