Two Country Fire Authority crews were called to the fire on Mannings Road in Dry Diggings about 6am on Thursday after reports of smoke coming from the home.
The fire was under control at 6.49am and then listed as safe at 7.36am.

A CFA spokesperson said there were two people inside the home when the blaze started but they woke to their smoke alarm and were able to safely evacuate.
The spokesperson said there was quite a bit of damage to the ceiling and walls of the home near the flue of the wood heater.
CFA crews are still on scene to manage any hot spots. The State Emergency Service has also been requested to tarp the roof of the house.
