The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting as much as 15 millimetres of rain to fall next Tuesday, with a high chance of showers for the rest of this week.
During the past two decades, an average of 51.2mm of rain has fallen in August.
37.8mm of rain has already been recorded at the Bendigo Airport gauge this year, which eclipses last year's total August rainfall of 33.4mm.
