Energy was high for an action-packed day of racing at the Huntly Livestock Exchange.
The first race were the under-11/13s, which was one of the biggest fields of the day compete over eight laps.
The pace was strong from the start with the group staying bunched together throughout most of the race, including a big improvement from Corey Larson who was right amongst the action.
Towards the finish a battle for first place emerged with Tobias Jelbart shooting out of the last corner five lengths ahead of his nearest competitors.
Jelbart crossed the line with a solid margin in front of Chase Hadden, Max Gale and Archie Powell.
It was a small but competitive field for the under-15 race that was filled with plenty of wheel-to-wheel battles.
Isaac and Lilyth Jones showed strength with some early attacking moves which unsettled the field in a race that was fast-paced.
Throughout the race the group looked to split completely as speed took its toll on the field. However, approaching the final two corners Shane Torrington took control and hit the final straight with a two-length buffer to secure his second straight win from Haylee Jack and Lilyth Jones.
The under-17 field may have been small, but the pace was large for the entire race as the cyclists quickly worked through their 20 laps.
Will Mannes was showing promising signs but was hindered by a puncture towards the end of the race.
The final lap of the race came down to pure tactics and it was Ethan Mathews who went into the last two corners with an aggressive move out pointing his more fancied rivals.
However, the top form of recent winner Angus Gill ran down Mathews in the final few metres to secure his fourth victory in a row, with Mathews second and Jamie Coles in third.
The Golden Number Award went to both Larson (under-11/13) and Mathews (under-17), as both showed great ability and tactical initiative during their races.
The club returns this weekend for another big day of racing at the Livestock Exchange.
