The state government has committed $60,000 to La Trobe University's Design and Grow Your Digital Presence course.
Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan said the course will start next month and help businesses through the impacts of COVID-19.
"This is about getting businesses back on their feet sooner and making them stronger," Ms Allan said.
Flow Retreat owner Trudy Ellery has completed the course and said it taught her how to navigate the online world and make her business stand out.
"We have designed our online store services to replicate experience people can achieve at the retreat and help them reduce stress and anxiety in the home," Ms Ellery said.
The course consists of 20 modules covering topics including digital strategy planning, analytics and data and social media marketing.
La Trobe University Bendigo Head of Campus, Dr Melanie Bish, said the university has an accountability to its regional communities to offer programs that are sensitive to local needs.
"There was a need to be able to offer educational programs that would support our businesses to adjust to the challenges COVID-19 has presented," Dr Bish said.
"The challenges in the digital space vary because people have skills that come from prior experiences and they haven't needed to invest in digital marketing, such as those in the health and fitness or hospitality industries.
"This course encourages the community to do business through online mediums."
