STAFF and young people at Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre are in good spirits despite the COVID-19 lockdown, the Community and Public Sector Union has revealed.
The union has contacted staff who were rostered to work early this morning, a spokesperson said.
"All COVID protocols (are) in place," he said.
Minimum staffing arrangements are now in place and testing of young people is taking place following a deep clean of the facility.

THE Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre is in lockdown after a worker tested positive to a COVID-19 test.
They are understood to have come in contact with multiple people at the site, who are now self-isolating.
The Bendigo Advertiser understands the person is education coorodinator who works one-on-one with children and justice workers on education plans.
They can also help coordinate young people's transition to and from schools as they enter or leave the justice centre.
They are not a teacher responsible for classroom teaching, but are employed by the Department of Education.

The centre is expected to remain in lockdown while health authorities conduct contract tracing.
A spokesperson said Corrections Victoria is working with the Department of Health and Human Services to minimise potential risks to young people and staff.
Youth Justice expects the highest standards of conduct in line with health advice from all education staff visiting our facilities, including the practice of physical distancing," they said.
"Deep cleaning has been completed and contract tracing is underway in line with the Youth Justice coronavirus (COVID-19) Management Plan, and we will continue to monitor the health of the centre and provide support to young people and staff.
"Youth Justice has implemented a range of measures in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19), including screening questions, temperature testing for visitors, staff and young people, quarantine measures, and testing as required in accordance with health advice."
