The case was recorded in the Macedon Ranges Shire.
It is the first new positive central Victorian test in 12 days, and the third since April 5 when the 27th case was recorded.
To date there have been nine cases recorded in Bendigo, eight in the Macedon Ranges, six in the Mount Alexander area, three in Loddon Shire, two in Campaspe Shire, one in the Central Goldfields and one in Gannawarra.
The latest positive test is one of 22 recorded statewide in the last 24 hours, including two overseas travellers returning home and 19 people in a cluster connected to a Melbourne meat works.
There have now been 34 positive tests connected with that company, which has agreed to close its facility for 14 days for cleaning. All staff have been tested or are in the process of being tested.
More news:
Victoria is in the middle of a push to test 100,000 people in two weeks.
Chief health officer Brett Sutton urged more people to come forward, even if they had mild cold symptoms.
"We are asking Victorians to again play their part and get tested if they have symptoms, because the more tests we do, the more data we have about the prevalence of coronavirus in the community,": he said.
"People with common symptoms of coronavirus including fever, chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose or loss of sense of smell - however mild - are encouraged to get tested."
There are only four reasons for Victorians to leave their home: food and supplies, medical care and care giving, exercise, and work or education.
