KYNETON coach Nathan Thompson has been imploring his players to not throw away all the hard work they had put it on the training track before the 2020 Bendigo Football-Netball League season was put on hold.
All training and club activities have been ceased since March 17 due to the coronavirus pandemic, leaving it up to players to commit to their own training regimes in the hope that a shortened season will still be possible this year.
"It's a really tough time at the moment for everyone who loves their footy," Thompson said.
"To be honest, some of the players I've spoken to are finding it very hard to get motivated without footy, which I can understand.
"But at the same time, I've also said to them that we'd had a really good pre-season and if they throw that all away it's going to be really hard to turn it around and get themselves up and going again if the season starts.
"As a club we felt we had worked really hard to get a competitive team together and worked on our fitness and camaraderie and were ready to go, so to have the rug pulled from under us just before the season was very disappointing."
