Police officers across the region have thanked members of the community for their support after four officers were killed in Melbourne last week.

Constable Josh Prestney, Constable Glen Humphris, Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor and Senior Constable Kevin King died after they were hit by a truck on the Eastern Freeway on Wednesday, April 22.
Officers stationed within the Loddon Shire have written a letter to extend their gratitude to those who have shared their condolences since the tragedy.
"Your thoughts and sympathetic words have been overwhelming and humbling," the letter reads.
"The knowledge and reassurance provided personally, by cards, gifts, emails and telephone calls of sympathy has given great comfort to our members."
The officers asked everyone to put safety first.
Police officers elsewhere in central Victoria have also voiced their appreciation for the kindness of the community.
Officers and staff at Echuca police station wrote on social media they were "very lucky to live and work in such a thoughtful community", while the Goldfields service area thanked those who left flowers and messages of support for "providing a symbol of peace, harmony, courage and love".
Officers within the Macedon Ranges area also thanked the community on social media.
Some officers from Echuca station are participating in the Run4Blue next month, to support Police Legacy.
Loddon Shire police advise that donations can be made to the families of the late officers via the Police Legacy website.

The Victoria Police members stationed in Loddon Shire, would like to extend their personal thanks and acknowledge the support and kindness given by the people throughout our communities, the Organisations and Agencies who we have built strong relationships with and many people who wish to remain anonymous.
Your thoughts and sympathetic words have been overwhelming and humbling. The knowledge and reassurance provided personally, by cards, gifts, Emails and telephone calls of sympathy has given great comfort to our members.
It is truly an emotional time where all have been affected by the death of four police officers killed performing everyday duties protecting Victorians on the Eastern Freeway, Wednesday 22 April 2020.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and close colleagues of Leading Senior Constable Lynette TAYLOR, Senior Constable Kevin KING, Constable Joshua PRESTNEY and Constable Glen HUMPHRIS.
We are grateful to your show of appreciation for the work we do and the respect you have paid our fallen colleagues. We take this opportunity to thank you and ask that you place the safety of your families, friends, work colleagues and yourself as the priority. So that everyone is safe.
