FOR the first time since returning to division one in the 2009-10 season, Mandurang missed the EVCA finals for consecutive seasons in 2019-20.
Just as they had done in 2018-19, the Rangas finished sixth in the Emu Valley Cricket Association this past season - albeit with just four wins compared to their five of a year earlier.
The warning bells were there from the outset for the Rangas, who on the opening day of the season were skittled for just 67 by United, who would go on to win the premiership.
Their toughest day with the bat though came in round seven against Spring Gully when the Rangas were routed for just 40 in the first innings in the game in which the Crows' Alex Sutton took 7-5, including a hat-trick.
The Rangas lost that game outright to the Crows just two rounds after an outright win of their own against West Bendigo, highlighting their inconsistency.
Despite winning just four games, the Rangas had one of the top all-rounders of the competition in captain James Pietromonaco, who finished third in the Addy MVP with 1095 points for his 435 runs, 30 wickets and six fielding dismissals.
Pietromoaco's season ended with a brilliant all-round double of 100 n.o. and 7-42 in the Rangas' round 13 win over wooden spooner Axe Creek, while he now has 161 wickets and 1391 runs in his six seasons since joining Mandurang.
James Bailey was solid with the ball in taking 22 wickets and Jeremy Hancock chipped in with 20, while Matt Pask only batted five times for the season, but made four half-centuries.
Pietromonaco and wicket-keeper Shaun Candy (22 dismissals) were both selected in the EVCA's Team of the Year.
