Racism not welcome
On Wednesday I went to a supermarket in Strathdale.

As I walked in, a teenager and (presumably) his mother came out.
He pulled his t-shirt up to cover his face like a mask when they walked past the lady of Asian descent who was in front of me.
I expressed my disgust at his behaviour.
But, what was worse was the fact that the teenager's mother just laughed at his actions.

Stay positive please
These are challenging times.
We're recovering from a torrid bushfire crisis.
We're gripped by the Covid-19 outbreak which has caused panic across the world and economic shockwaves.
We're also tackling a tough drought.
This is on top of several life challenges many Australians experience.
I can put my hand up and say that I have never lived or experienced the true impacts of a recession or those of a global financial crisis.
I cannot help but feel somewhat anxious given what we are seeing occur around the world.
Despite these challenges, I remain optimistic.
I know that we will overcome these challenges.
I believe we as human beings will take on whatever challenge life throws at us.
I have faith that we will all get through these challenging times together.
We will get through.
I back our political leaders, our emergency services personnel and medical practitioners.
Have faith and be confident.

Duck season doubts
I don't understand how any sane person could agree with this decision to grant even a restricted licence.
To shoot any wildlife in Australia at any time, let alone after the year we have just had is dubious at best.
It also invites inquiry regarding the reasoning behind it.
