The 27-year-old will fulfill a childhood dream on Saturday at 3.10pm when she walks out onto the QEO with the Geelong Cats for their round four AFLW clash against the Richmond Tigers.
As a child she remembers going to the QEO with her father David, who is a four-time BFNL premiership player with South Bendigo, to watch the Bloods in action.
Now it is her time to be in the spotlight.
"It's all very exciting," Ivey said.
"A lot of people have been talking to me about it this week. We're heading home to Bendigo.
"I am especially looking forward to seeing all of my family and friends at the game."
The forecast for Saturday is 29 degrees and sunny, perfect conditions for Ivey.
"We will go there and expect that we're going to win and we're going to play our best football to make sure we get it done," she said.
The Cats have had a slow start to the season losing all three of their matches so far, round one to the Dockers, followed by round two to the Lions and last weekend to reigning premiers the Crows.
"The team is confident and feeling good. We might not have won on the weekend but it was probably the best we've felt as a group all season," Ivey said.
During the 2020 season Ivey has been challenged with a new midfield role.
"So far this season that's where I've been spending majority of my time, working alongside other younger midfielders," she said.
It might be a change of pace from her previous role in the forward, but she is enjoying every minute of it.
"I love being around the ball, it's certainly a different role but I am able to get my hands on the ball a bit more and there's a lot more running," she said.
The new role has been a challenge for Ivey, but she has embraced it.
"In the middle you go up against some of the best players in the league and I love having that challenge every week," she said.
In the most recent game against the Crows, the Cats might not have secured victory, but there was plenty learnt on the field.
"We were disappointed not to get the win, but everything is starting to fall into place," Ivey said.
Her key role for the match was to stick on the Crows' Anne Hatchard, a job she believed she took care of with ease.
"I was supposed to take care of Anne and I did my best for the team. The last game was by far my best of the season."
"We're all looking forward to doing even better this weekend against the Tigers."
