Crone was one of five former BDCA players in the 12-man Victoria second XI team.
Brayden Stepien, James Seymour, Todd Murphy and Sam Elliott joined the former Strathfieldsaye paceman in a Victorian team that had a mixed opening day in the four-day clash.
WA skipper Ashton Turner sent the Vics into bat and they were bowled out for 114.
Sam Harper made 63 of the 114, while Stepien was next best with 17. Seymour (0), Crone (4), Elliott (0) and Murphy (0 not out) had little impact with the bat.
However, they fought back strongly with the ball.
Crone (2-20), Murphy (2-30) and Seymour (1-24) helped reduce WA to 6-112 at stumps.
That trio were coming off impressive performances in Premier Cricket on Saturday.
Off-spinner Murphy took 6-12 for St Kilda, while Crone and Seymour both claimed five-wicket hauls for Carlton and Essendon respectively.
