Mr Morton bought the light blue Kinderson bike from a junk shop about 10 years ago because of the Bendigo history it has.
He has reported the theft to police.
The bike is a Kinderson, which was also a Bendigo bike store in Hargreaves Street.
"It's just a nice looking old bit of history. I liked it because it had Bendigo history," Mr Morton said. "I remember going into Kinderson when I was a kid."
Mr Morton said the bike was taken from his front yard but was out of site.
"I was careless. I normally have it chained up but it was out of sight," he said. "The whole front (of the house) is obscured by garden and bush, so it is certainly disappointing.
"It's not like some of these multi-thousand dollar bikes you hear people have. I'm hoping someone has randomly ridden and dumped it. I doubt anyone one ride it around town but I have been keeping an eye out.
"It would stand out among other bikes because of its old look."
Anyone with information on the stolen bike's can contact Senior Constable Andrew Loricco at Bendigo Police on 5448 1300.
