The BDCA will do battle with arch-rival Ballarat in Friday's decider at the Albert Ground after the final round of preliminary matches on Wednesday and Thursday's semi-finals were washed out without a ball being bowled.
Melbourne's wet weather meant only three grounds were available to be used for Thursday's play.
The Victorian Country Cricket League decided to use the three grounds for the scheduled three division two matches.
The BDCA topped the Provincial White division, while Ballarat led the Provincial Blue group, so they both advance to the final.
"The weather has done a fair bit of damage over the last 48 hours,'' BDCA coach Shane Koop said.
"It was still raining up until lunch time today and it's cleared up this afternoon.
"Clearly, it's a little bit of a shortcut for us to get there, but at the end of the day when you're in the final, that's what we're here to do.
"It's a great outcome and a really good opportunity for us, and the playing group, to represent the BDCA in the final and, hopefully, bring home the Provincial trophy."
The BDCA's only completed match this week was Monday's 200-run thumping of Traralgon.
Koop said the playing group would have a training session on Thursday to sharpen up for Friday's final.
"Our plan is to have an indoor net session to prepare the boys because we've missed a bit of cricket,'' Koop said.
"The boys are really focused...we're well aware why we're here and cricket is our main priority.
"The boys are really excited...it's a great opportunity."
The BDCA and Ballarat haven't met in a Provincial group match since round one, 2010.
