NCFL - ALL EIGHT CLUBS
IN what was a decade littered with premierships across the club, senior football success again eluded White Hills during the 2010s in the Heathcote District league.
Across all grades of football and netball the Demons won 23 flags for the decade - 10 more than any other HDFNL club.
Yet for the senior team it was a barren decade, as was the 2000s and 1990s, with the Demons' last senior premiership remaining a distant 1988.
The Demons were the only senior team not to get beyond the second week of the finals for the decade, with their best result a pair of first semi-final appearances in 2011 and 2015.
The Demons - who won 68 games - were clearly a middle-of-the-road side throughout the decade.
While they never seriously threatened to win the premiership, they never bottomed out either, winning between five and 11 games each year apart from 2018 (three victories).
The only time the Demons sat on top of the ladder for the decade was after round three of 2017 when they started the season 3-0.
The standout players of the decade for White Hills were headed by skipper David Wright, who in 2017 played his 200th senior game for the club.
Wright amassed 289 best player votes (six for being named best, five for second best and so on) throughout the decade, with the consistent half-back/midfielder featuring in the Demons' best players 71 times.
Only Huntly's Stacy Fiske (294) earned more best player votes across the decade.
"He's one of those heart-and-soul players of the club who all the boys love to play with," former Demons coach Brent Millar said of Wright on the eve of his 200th game.
A distant second to Wright in the best player voting at the Demons was ruckman Matt Lehane (182), who cruelly suffered two knee reconstructions during the decade - the second of which came representing the HDFNL in inter-league in 2017.
Meanwhile, the only White Hills player to kick more than 100 goals for the decade was Matt Sawyer, who booted 164, including eight hauls of five or more, while Ricky Symes was the competition's leading goalkicker in 2014 with 59 after crossing to Scott Street from Sandhurst.
Sean Christopher's 11 on debut against Elmore in round one of 2017 were the most goals kicked in a game by a White Hills player during the decade.
