Bendigo's council is hoping for 60,000 or more visitors to Bendigo's 2020 White Night, after an spring date was announced.
The state government confirmed October 10 as the date for Bendigo's second White night on Monday.
About 60,000 people visited White Night in 2018, exceeding organisers' expectations.
City of Greater Bendigo mayor Margaret O'Rourke said the coming of a second White Night was very exciting.
Councillor O'Rourke speculated that the spring date might create a different atmosphere, if people went out earlier to catch the extra daylight.
"We've seen the success of what the first White Night did for Greater Bendigo, and our community, and our businesses. We're really pleased to see a second one coming," Cr O'Rourke said.
"It will create great opportunities ... last time White Night was here was plenty of venues that were bursting at the seams with people visiting and buying products. That will be the same.
"These type of events don't come along very often. Business will I'm sure capitalise on it. They're very good at showing the hospitality that Bendigo's so well known for."
Cr O'Rourke said it was hard to predict numbers, but she hoped for at least 60,000 or more visitors to the 2020 event.
