Haylee Greenman and Caitlin Evans will travel to Canada and America in July as part of a Sports Travel Australia athletics tour.
Greenman and Evans both have a passion to compete in track and field.
For Greenman, 15, her love of athletics started back in her native Kyabram where she started out as a runner before she decided to try shot put, discus and eventually javelin which is now her favourite event.
"I haven't looked back since," Greenman said.
"I love javelin as it's not just a throw and not just a run, it's a mixture between the two.
"It's also quite technical which is an element of it that I enjoy."
Evans, 14, enjoys track events, with hurdles her expertise.
"I have always enjoyed hurdles in addition to other running events," Evans said.
"I like the challenge of going quickly over each hurdle."
The duo, who also compete in Bendigo Little Athletics were selected for the tour based on strong performances at school sport track and field championships.
For Catherine McAuley College student Evans it was at the School Sport Victoria State Track and Field Championships.
While for Greenman it was success in Sydney with NSW school Moama Anglican Grammar.
In addition, they have both had plenty of victories with medal hauls at recent tournaments.
The tour in July includes athletic competitions around Vancouver, in addition to a stopover in Los Angeles on the way home back to Australia.
It will be Evans' first time overseas, but the first time either of them have been to North America.
"I was very excited and surprised when I found out that I would be going," Evans said.
"It will be exciting to meet other people from around the world and compete."
They are both thrilled to have the opportunity to test their skills on the world's stage.
"When I first found out that I had been invited I was crying at school and called my mum straight away, I was ecstatic as it was such great news," Greenman laughed.
"I'm excited but also nervous as it will be the first competing overseas."
Their success has been years in the making, with help along the way from Bendigo coaches Frank Gavriliadis, Brett Gilligan and Leanne Hume.
There is still four months before they depart and in the meantime both will be putting in the extra yards to raise funds for their trip.
